Because I tend to talk down my own ideas before even giving them the chance they deserve, I decided to ask a simple question on social media to give me some insight fast.
I posted the following question on Whisper:
Some of the replies I got included:
Chat replies included:
Lend chairs from neighbours
Keep small foldable/stackable chairs around that don't take up too much space.
Just stand.
Don't invite to many people.
Rent some high tables.
Have other people bring folding chairs.
Put on some music, make people dance.
Besides finding possible solutions to the problem I would like to solve myself, I also got some feedback on my own idea. I told people about my basic idea:
"Do you think that making a table that hides chairs in it would be a good idea to solve this problem? I might want to make one but I'm not sure if people would be interested."
Some of the replies I got included:
"That could work! Having chairs is always great."
"It seems like a challenge to sell." (Translated from dutch)
"Who cares if they're interested; making it would be cool and you'd solve your dilemma."
"That's a good idea but I've seen something similar."
The last reply in the list above was from someone who actually sent me the idea he found. He Googled it with Google search images and the result might be worth looking into during my market research.
