TAKE-A-SEAT

Since we'll soon start working on our graduation project and because a classmate informed me they were instructed to make a choice regarding the subject of this project, I've decided to explain my subject a little further. Up until now my blog posts regarding my project have been a bit vague. This is because we didn't really start working on it yet. I intend to make my future blog post as clear as possible so you will also have a clear view on my progress.

The subject for my project will be the difficulty people can experience when they lack enough chairs in context of a living room party.

This idea came to mind when I was at a birthday party of one of my nieces. There was a lot of family present and my aunt was having trouble with collecting enough chairs for everyone. She was collecting chairs from upstairs and cleaning chairs in the garden so they could be used inside. Eventually some people were sitting on small stools, while others were sitting in luxurious dining room chairs. Every time someone stood up, someone else immediately took their spot and it was just a hassle all around.

In that very same living room I got some inspiration to come up with a potential solution. My aunt had a square coffee table just like this:

The large openings on the side were mostly used to store some blankets but not much else.

That's when I started fantasizing.

What if you could use the compartments of the coffee table to store small chairs? So that when you have a party, people can grab a chair from the table, expand it and take a seat.

This way nobody has to stop partying to clean chairs from outside. You don't even have to interrupt your conversation and you won't have the problem of a lot of big empty chairs in the room when people leave.

This idea seemed perfect for a graduation project, not to vague or complicated and leaves enough room for my teachers to crank up the difficulty when it gets too easy.
